Fans of the Patriots all across New England tonight have been shocked to learn that MVP candidate QB Tom Brady played throughout 2010 with a stress fracture in his foot.

According to reports being released tonight, Brady is preparing for surgery that will happen either Thursday or Monday to repair a stress fracture in his right foot.  As reported by ESPN Boston here, Brady not only played with the injury through last Sunday's game against the Jets, but has been playing with it throughout most of the 2010 season.

There are conflicting reports out right now regarding whether or not Brady will play in the Pro Bowl in 10 days.  While initial reports insisted he would not be forced to miss the game, it now seems as though he's pulled out of the event and will be replaced by ex-Patriot and current Kansas City Chiefs QB Matt Cassel.

The surgery is not expected to cause him to miss any time, or any practice.  Keep an eye on for continuing updates on this and other news regarding your New England Patriots.
